Ford’s Mustang Mach E specs leak three days ahead of debut

Fords giving the world its first look at the 2021 Mustang Mach-E on November 17, just ahead of the Los Angeles Auto Show, but wasnt quick enough to get ahead of fans who discovered all the goods on this all-electric crossover three days before they were supposed to.A member of the MachEForum.com tracked down slides intended for the manufacturers consumer site, and grabbed screenshots before Ford caught on and covered them back up.With some of? most of? the cat out of the bag, we can say the cars a looker, with Mustang-inspired styling, an out-there nose with the pony in front and unmistakable taillights that cue up suggestions of its gasoline-fuelled sibling.Theres also a sunroof that covers most of the upper lid, while the dash is dominated by a Tesla-style tablet to control the functions.Depending on whether you choose rear- or all-wheel-drive, and what trim you select, youll get anywhere from about 300 miles (483 km) to 230 miles (370 km) on a single charge. If you get the GT trim with the right options, youll spring from zero to 100 mph (96 km/h) in the mid-three-seconds range, making this one super-quick (electric) Mustang, too.Plug it into a fast charger, and youll have enough power to cover 75 kilometres in just ten minutes. But wait, theres more the slides even included pricing. Its in U.S. dollars, of course, and wont be the same for Canadians, but the Mach E will run from the $43,895 Select trim up to the $60,500 GT, before any state or federal incentives for electric vehicles.Trim levels will include the limited First Edition, which will include exclusive Grabber Blue paint, the ulra-loaded Premium, and the extended-range California Route 1.LISTEN: Toyota has led the hybrid charge for two decades, and as Toyota Canada’s Stephen Beatty tells Plugged In host Andrew McCredie, is now all-in on EVs, particularly fuel cell vehicles. The company’s vice president also has some interesting things to say about some provinces’ push to create electric vehicle sales quotas for 2030, and tells us about Toyota’s fascinating, and potentially game-changing, work with Quebec to produce green hydrogen. Dog Days of B.C. summer a carnut’s delight

Two cars side by side pulling wheelies during last weekend’s Langley Loafer Old Time Drags.Cam Hutchins Last week was certainly one for the record books for me. I have never shot so many cars of so many different types over the course of a few short days.I started on Monday shooting an amazing 1950 6C 2500 Ghia being restored by RX Autoworks for the big Pebble Beach Concours next weekend. I went to the North Vancouver shop expecting to see a close-to-finished car, but they were still working madly to get it ready for The Show. Im leaving Sunday for the Monterey car fest so will have plenty of photos to show in a couple of weeks time. Then it was down to Tsawwassen to photograph Jody Wilsons amazing 1955 Gasser-style Chevy for a magazine. This car is a traditional looking Gasser but with lots of cool tricks. I also shoot Jody racing at the Langley Loafers Old Time drags on Saturday where won the trophy for Best Bitchin Race Car. Not bad for someone who doesnt make his living wrenching, but rather as an artist working in silver and carving totem poles. On Thursday I went to see Garry and Darlene Cassidy and see their car collection that had to be replaced due to a fire a coupe of years ago. They have done a great job rebuilding up a collection of amazing vehicles. The next day it was to Abbotsford for the Agrifair as a guest of Campbell Motorsports. I knew the Campbells from various car shows and their Super L Auto Wrecking yard, but this was the first time I got to see them run their tractor pulls. The crowd, myself included, loved this big horsepower spectacle, and the tractors with three, four and even five big dragster engines were beyond belief! The Aqrifair welcomed the Truck Tractor Pull back after 15 years and heres hoping they will be back next year!On Sunday I went to the best bargain for parking at White Rock for the day: just $10 bucks to park all day at the beachif you have a cool car. The Westcoasters Daze has for years been run by Mike Herrick and now with the help of Darby Motorsports it looks to live on at the great East Beach location. This weekend I only have tonight and tomorrow to get my car ready in preparation of driving south on Sunday for Car Week in Carmel. Tonight Im taking in the street legal drags to see the VWs attack the track, and tomorrow a day and night at Mission Raceway Park for the Historics racing followed by some drag racing. As always, wherever your carnut travels take you this weekend, take a kid along for the ride.SHOWSAUG. 9-11What: Great Canadian VW Show WeekendWhere: Friday night drags at Mission Raceway Park. 5 p.m. till close. 1,000-horsepower Mopar engine sells out in two days

Mopar is celebrating HEMI Day (4/26) by opening orders for the 1,000 horsepower “Hellephant” 426 Supercharged Crate HEMI® Engine and Kit. Originally unveiled at the 2018 SEMA Show in Las Vegas last fall, the “Hellephant” is a Mopar-first for a 1,000-horsepower crate engine kit offered by an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), paired with a stunning 950 lb.-ft. of torque. Chrysler’s new 1,000-horsepower crate engine just sold out in two days, despite its US$30,000 price tag. Expect to see a lot of well-heeled people going really fast really soon. Offered by Fiat Chrysler’s Mopar division, the 426-cubic-inch (7.0-litre) engine was dubbed the “Hellelephant,” a combination of Hellcat engine and elephant, a nickname given to the big, heavy, and powerful 426-cid engines of Chrysler’s past. Mopar announced it would start taking pre-orders on April 26 – known to enthusiasts as “Hemi Day” because the date is 4-26 – and according to website Allpar, an FCA spokesperson said “given the high demand and the hand-built, time-intensive build process, we have closed pre-ordering for the 426 Hellephant Supercharged Hemi crate engine.” The company didn’t reveal exactly how many pre-orders that was, but Allpar speculated that it might be one hundred. The engine doesn’t come with Mopar’s usual warranty of three years or 160,000 kilometres, just ninety-day coverage against defects in production, and not for engines used in racing. The $29,995 engine price doesn’t include the wiring harness or powertrain control module, which come in an optional plug-and-play kit for an additional $2,265. The engine, which has a 3.0-litre supercharger and makes 950 lb-ft of torque, could possibly be opened up again to more orders in future, but for now, it’s only a lucky few who’ll be putting this powerful pachyderm under their
