The Pope has a new whip, and it might not be what you expect unless you were expecting it to be a Dacia Duster, Autoblog reports.A far cry from the Lamborghini Huracan gifted to him previously, the Dacia, a much more humble vehicle, suits this much more humble Pontiff.Dacia, a Romanian company owned by Renault, built the car specially for His Holiness with the help of coachbuilder Romturingia. It started out as a standard second-generation Duster, but has obviously had a few modifications done to it to make it befitting of the head of the Catholic church, like, most notably, the extra glass windshield, which gives it a more golf-kart-like appearance. The Duster has also been lowered to aid with ingress and egress, and the rear bench seat is extra-comfy, were told.Under the hood of the Dacia is either a 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder or a 1.5-liter turbodiesel were not sure which, though we know its a four-wheel-drive model. This means that it could rock either 130 or 115 horsepower, respectively, more than enough to parade around Vatican City. When Pope Francis isnt putting himself on display, hes usually tootled around the Vatican in a 1984 Renault 4 GTL, given to him by a fellow priest. It doesnt get any more humble than

The newest New York City taxi cab is — the Tesla Model 3
In addition to its five stock colours for consumers, you might soon see Teslas Model 3 in bright yellow. The all-electric sedan has been approved for use as a taxicab in New York City.According to Autoblog, the Model 3 was recently added to the list of vehicles permitted by the citys Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC).Its the first all-electric car officially approved for taxi use since the first electric carriages that drove alongside horse-drawn cabs in the 1890s. The Model 3 was one of some twenty cars added to the list.In a response to Autoblog, the TLC said it didnt know who submitted the request to approve the Tesla. The city issues Alternative Fuel Medallions, but up until now, the published rules have stated these are valid only for a vehicle that is a hybrid electric vehicle or is powered by compressed natural gas that is manufactured by an original equipment manufacturer for the general commercial or consumer market. In addition, such a vehicle has to meet the same standard as other taxis, including minimum exterior size and interior volume, luggage capacity and air conditioning. Vehicles with internal combustion engines cant make more than 295 horsepower, and the Tesla meets that restriction in all but the Model 3s high-performance versions.New York previously designated an official taxicab, which most cab owners were required to purchase. In 2011, the Nissan NV200 Taxi of Tomorrow was named the official vehicle, but it was a controversial decision since it pushed out the previous greener choice, the Ford Escape Hybrid. Some believed the loss of the lucrative New York taxi market was the reason behind Fords decision to ditch the hybrid version which had far fewer consumer sales when the Escape was redesigned for 2013.In 2018, the TLC dropped the NV200 purchase requirement and approved a list of 30 possible vehicles, such as the Toyota Camry. To qualify as a taxi, the Model 3 as with every other vehicle will have to be equipped with a roof light, medallion and decals, an interior partition and cameras to photograph passengers, and be painted yellow. It will be allowed to remain in service for a maximum of seven years.LISTEN: In this week’s episode, we talk about all the electrifying news coming out of the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show with Postmedia Driving senior writer David Booth, including Ford’s bold Mustang Mach-e SUV. Aston Martin DBS GT ZagatoHandout Aston Martin says this is the modern twin of the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation. I say its got 760 freaking horsepower. Ill leave it up to you to determine which of those statements is the more important descriptor of the new DBS GT Zagato.Said monstrous power comes from twice-turbocharging Astons 5.2-litre V12. Bespoke pieces like the machined 3D wheels and carbon fibre litter this latest DBS. Inside, theres Caithness Spicy Red leather dont ask me what Caithness is; I dont know plus Zagato seat quilting in the shape of a Z, and satin twill exposed carbon fibre. But the most interesting thing about this announcement is that both the DBS GT Zagato and the DB4 GT continuation be built alongside one another, despite the obvious difference in years. Both are part of Astons DBZ Centenary Collection and the Continuation is part of that run of 19 original DB4s being recreated that should be read handbuilt at Aston Martin Works. Its worth noting that modernity has intruded ever so slightly into the Continuation models; all the original 60-year-old patterns have been digitized, and thanks to modern metallurgy, the original inline-six has been punched out to 4.7 litres and a very modern 390 horsepower. All of the DB4 GT Zagato Continuation cars will be delivered by the end of
