If the drivers safety belt guide loop mount was not welded to specifications, then in a crash of sufficient severity, the mount could become damaged and may not restrain the driver as designed which would increase the risk of injury to the driver, the recall explains.The reason for the faulty welds is that the supplier used inadequate parts for the welding tool, and because its welded to the frame, its not something that can easily be replaced.Four of the seven vehicles identified as having faulty welds have been fixed, er, replaced already; Toyota will contact the remaining three vehicle owners to have their vehicle inspected for the issue.
