Your battery-charging session is about to become a whole lot more interesting, as Tesla has just expanded its suite of video games to include a Mario Kart-style racing game that you can actually control with the pedals and steering wheel of your vehicle.Tesla shared a video over Twitter today showing the new game, called Beach Buggy Racing 2, being demonstrated by a woman in full racing gear sitting at a charging station. In the game, you drive a cartoon-ified Tesla that can collect power-ups and race against other Teslas, in a manner very much like Mario Kart.Your next charging session is going to be SO 👏 MUCH 👏 FUN 👏 pic.twitter.com/5YzSL36kCC Tesla (@Tesla) June 18, 2019As much fun as it is, we have to be a bit of a downer on the whole thing, dont we? Every Tesla model still has a direct connection from the steering wheel to the steering rack, which means when youre yanking at the wheel trying to best your last lap time, your real wheels are moving, potentially causing wear on various steering components, as well as your tires. Were also certain its only a matter of time before somebody either tries to play the game while actually driving; or a computer malfunction switches the game off while youre charging, causing you to hit the accelerator unintentionally and rocket into the shopping mall directly ahead of your car.Yes, we are being a bit cynical about a video game, but weve pretty much lost faithin Tesla ownersat this point. The game is also available for mobile devices and can be found on the Apple Store and the Google Play

6 awesome vintage racing video games that’ll take you back
Pole Position was the hottest driving game of its day in 1984. It featured one of the first video games with a somewhat intelligible human voice.Atari They don’t make ‘em like they used to. In fact, they make ‘em better. There is no denying the incredible, raw entertainment power of today’s video consoles and games. There are plenty of captivating, high-definition, online-enabled racing games for all platforms available today, including mobile phones. But there’s something to be said for the simplicity of the games of yesterday and the metaphorical day before that, back when there were fewer buttons than you had fingers and when glitches in the game could be fixed by blowing into the console. Ah, those were the days, and this is a list of some of the games from those days. Tell us which games you’d add in the comments. The Need for Speed II — 1997 The Need for Speed was first released in 1994 for the 3DO console followed by the PC, PS1 and Saturn. It was awesome, and if you even knew someone who had it you were cool. But three years later they made it more exclusive by releasing the sequel just on Playstation and PC. What made the game so revolutionary was the presence of traffic on the race course, and police that would chase you. And of course the epic crashes that send the cars flying and flipping through the air. Who cares if you win if do seven backflips? Sega Rally Championship — 1994 The boppy 1990s beat of the intro soundtrack to Sega Rally Championship is enough to take you back to 1994. The graphics are grainy, but the nostalgic of the running commentary — “Medium left; long hairpin turn; woah!; caution, medium left, medium right; finish! — is enough to make you want to start scanning eBay for a used Sega Saturn console. Gran Turismo — 1998 Gran Turismo made its debut in 1998 on the original PlayStation. It was well-received for its top-notch graphics (at the time) and variety of licenced vehicles. The game was so successful, it’s now PlayStation’s top selling video game franchise. Currently, there are seven editions of Gran Turismo, with the most recent, Gran Turismo Sport, released in 2017. Mario Kart 64 — 1997 It was difficult to decide which Mario Kart is the best, because the Italian plumber has been karting for some time. Super Mario Kart was released on Super Nintendo in 1992 and still has the potential to rob you of an hour or two, but it was five years later in 1997, when that first thumb joystick on the Nintendo 64 was first making calluses on children’s thumbs, that developers really hit the nail on the head. With its dynamic gameplay and characters, 3D graphics, hidden shortcuts and four-player split screen capability, Mario Kart 64 literally added another dimension to racing. Dibs Yoshi! F-Zero — 1991 Like a lot of the old Nintendo products, F-Zero for Super Nintendo debuted in Japan first in 1990, followed by North America in 1991. The game featured four different futuristic hovercars to choose from, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Fire Stingray has the highest top speed, just an FYI. Stunt Car Racer — 1989 For an idea of how far we’ve come in the realm of video games, consider that when Stunt Car Racer hit the market in 1989, it was critically acclaimed for its graphics. Today, even though it’s pixelated and the tracks are basic, the single-player game that features elevated tracks you can drive off of and damage your vehicle, does what a good game should do: challenging players while simultaneously delighting

A Model X-rated video made ‘Tesla’ the top search term on PornHub overnight
Despite its size, this Model X P90D can go from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds. Now that’s ludicrous.Andrew McCredie/Postmedia It didn’t take long for people to make liberal use of Tesla’s semi-autonomous Autopilot mode in all sorts of creative ways. Shortly after its debut, we were inundated with reports popping up everywhere of people behind the wheel taking naps, using their phones and, y’know, just generally ignoring everything Elon Musk told them not to do in the owner’s manual. We knew, too, it was just a matter of time before the Model S, 3 and X’s hands-free capabilities would let people start having sex on the road, too. We were just caught a bit off-guard to see the act consummated in a porno film. Yes, a video uploaded to website PornHub shows adult actress Taylor Jackson going on a Tinder date with a man driving what appears to be a Tesla Model X; less than a minute after entering the vehicle, things turn very Model X-rated indeed. After some affectionate events, the driver turns on the Autopilot to allow Jackson to sit on his lap. Obviously, we can’t post the video here, but suffice it to say, uh—they had sex. The video was uploaded just before the end of April, and according to Jackson, it at least briefly hit number one on the most-searched-for terms on the entire website. While she seems quite proud, as any artist would, this could have ended much worse than it did. Because while Tesla’s Model lineup does spell S-3-X-Y, we’re not sure this is exactly what Elon intended. (Or maybe he did. Who knows?) At any rate, this should never be attempted; in an emergency situation, it would be very hard for the driver to react properly when, well, otherwise engaged. According to The Next Web, Autopilot crashes are much less likely than those caused by humans, but Autopilot still isn’t a fully autonomous system. It still requires human input—and this doesn’t

Car chase and street brawl caught on video in B.C.
Three people were injured in a brawl in Surrey, B.C., following a car chase and a brawl involving five vehicles and at least a dozen people. It’s believed the fight was related to conflicts involving the Lower Mainland Gang. RCMP officers responded after receiving multiple calls to 911, with residents reporting “vehicles driving dangerously, and people fighting in the street.” A home security camera caught video of the event, which occurred around 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 27 near 135A Street and 88 Avenue. When police arrived, they found two men with minor injuries, and a third in serious condition. The officers seized a Nissan Maxima and a Ford Taurus at the scene, but are still looking for a red Dodge Caravan, burgundy Honda Accord, and black Volkswagen Jetta. The home camera picked up video of several men exiting the minivan and chasing after other men, and of a car hitting a man who was on foot and sending him flying. Although it looks like a gun was used at one point in the video, police have confirmed that no shots were fired. The RCMP is asking anyone with information, or with other video of the event, to contact them at 604-599-0502, or anonymously through CrimeStoppers.

Bollinger drops a video of its all-electric B1 doing truck stuff
Bollinger has given us our first glimpse of the B1 actually driving around and doing off-road activities, Inside EVs reports. The B1 is an all-electric, all-aluminum, all-wheel-drive truck that’s available as a pickup (B2) or an SUV (B1), both are powered by dual electric motors and feature 15 inches of ground clearance to vault over any terrain. While the video doesn’t show too much, the truck likes to play in the dirt, and can handle an incline and a big puddle without breaking a sweat. We also get a glimpse of the all-aluminum chassis that underpins both trucks. The video ends with with RESERVE’, alluding to the 25,000 potential customers who have slapped down some cash to be the recipients of this neat truck. Bollinger is one of the newest players in the EV truck game, along with Rivian, which just received a major investment from Ford, and whose R1S and R1T looks to offer a more daily-drivable experience. The Bollinger is more of a classic offroad machine built for fun, but still offers a large amount of utility to go along with it. Both trucks feature a full-length passthrough that spans the length of the entire truck, suitable for longer cargo. Bollinger hasn’t given a firm release date for when its trucks will be ready, but have said that production will start in 2020.

Tesla shares video of Roadster’s wild acceleration
Tesla Roadsterhandout Tesla has released a short video showing the acceleration capabilities of its forthcoming Roadster, but we’re not sure why. The video shows the company’s new Roadster, an all-electric sports car with performance that’s promised to be wild. The video even has the caption of zero to sixty faster than you can read this caption, but the timing of this teaser is curious. The Tesla Roadster has been rumoured to hit 60 miles per hour from a standstill in just 1.9 seconds by using a specially named launch control system called Plaid Mode, as a reference to the movie Spaceballs — which itself references the hyperspace from Star Wars. View this post on Instagram Zero to sixty faster than you can read this caption tesla.com/roadster A post shared by Tesla (@teslamotors) on Apr 19, 2019 at 11:01am PDT The post is suspiciously timed, considering it was shared on the same day as security footage captured a Tesla Model S spontaneously erupting into flames in a parking garage. Could this be a way to deflect the attention from that and onto the California company’s upcoming model? It’s not beyond the realm of possibility. The security footage in question captured a first-generation Model S in Shanghai, bursting into flames without warning. There were no casualties, but that doesn’t make the incident any less alarming. The video was posted by ShanghaiJayin on Twitter, who also posted a video of a Nio ES8 setting fire at a repair centre. There have been at least 40 reports of new energy vehicles setting on fire in 2018, which includes plug-in hybrids, EVs, and
